This easy-to-use balancing platform pays big dividends to players willing to simply take regular focused swings... Find the power you may never have had or seen before.

If you understand that balance and a controlled stride are essential to proper grounding during a swing, you'll "get it"!

Players will not only develop balance and control, but they will learn to use the all-important hips as well. If players struggle when they first start using this, it is only because they are now learning correctly... The Batters Edge will force them to focus on their balance... it's that simple! (*please read the hint at the end of this page.)

It's not too difficult for any age player, but remember that those who struggle initially are probably getting the most out of it!

By developing muscle memory, players will learn proper mechanics such as balancing on the balls of their feet and keeping their heads still! All while making swing-training fun, challenging and productive.

Coach Jp Says

Jp's Review

At first glance, it seemed like a good idea... but it also seemed like something I could make with a cheap piece of wood. Once I received a demonstration unit, I started to see the potential.

The Batters Edge Balance Platform overcame every objection I had. It is well designed and well built using a light but strong fiberglass base with rubber gripping bottom (it might minimize scratching on a gym or home wood floor as well as keeping the unit from sliding.)

Batter's Edge Drills

Here are some strong drills that will help you... along with a little bit of advice.

I strongly suggest that you use a Building Block Approach along with any new drill or instructional training aid.

Here's a great sequence for you in using our Batters Edge Balance Beam:

1/2 speed swings with no bat - (these are called Dry Swings).

  • Execute your complete swing from rest position, then initiate your trigger, then swing through your contact position and on to your follow through.
  • Freeze at follow-through for 3 seconds, testing your ability to balance.
  • Repeat until your base feels solid for 3 consecutive swings.
  • 3/4 speed swings with no bat - (Dry Swings).

  • Execute your complete swing from rest position, then initiate your trigger, then swing through your contact position and on to your follow through.
  • Freeze at follow-through for 3 seconds, testing your ability to balance.
  • Repeat until your base feels solid for 3 consecutive swings.

Advanced Ideas:

Get creative (but know your players and avoid taking them too far beyond their skill levels.)

Think about tee drills, 1 hand bat drills, soft toss (use wiffle balls) drills, or making up a game... just keep it fresh, keep it interesting and keep em having fun while they are learning the tremendous value of a hitters balance!
