ABOUT THE COACH
Ken Eriksen was an assistant coach for the 2004 USA Olympic team that won a gold medal in Athens. He was also the head coach of the USA gold medal Pan American Qualifier team in 2001.
Eriksen has been the head coach for 9 years at the University of South Florida, where he has a 373-186 career record. He has led five USF teams to the NCAA Tournament and has won two conference titles. His 2004 team finished with a 60-14 record, the highest win total in school history, and ranked 12th in the final coaches poll.
Eriksen competed at the elite fastpitch level with the Clearwater Bombers from 1986-93, and in 1991 he was the catcher on the United States National Fastpitch Team that won a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Cuba. The following year he was named First Team All-World as a catcher.
